Established at the latest in 1529 (possibly already in 1523) according to an old document, the first Heintz/Heinz came to Thuringia as a master glassmaker, probably from west of there (Mosel region)
1621 - The direct descendent (Hans Heintz) of the first Thuringian Heinz founded the glassworks and the town Piesau together with Peter Bock, Hans Dietz and Georg Schott.
In 1661, the Upper Franconian (Franconia-Brandenburg at that time) glassworks and consequently the town Kleintettau (first called Glashütten and Kleinlichtenhain) were founded by the son of the Piesau founder together with two Müllers from Lauscha.
1904 - Carl-August Heinz Sr. built a modern generator-gas operated factory in Kleintettau after the old wood and wood-fired village glassworks had burned down.
1949 - Founding of a branch of HEINZ-GLAS by Heinrich and Adolf Heinz in Schleiden/Eifel.
1955 - As the first glassworks in the Federal Republic of Germany, HEINZ-GLAS starts production of plastic packaging containers with HEINZ PLASTICS.
1971 - As the first glassworks in the Federal Republic of Germany, HEINZ-GLAS uses completely electric opal glass melt for continual, completely automatic operation. As a result, the company has a unique position in Germany and is one of the few specialists for this in the world!
1985 - Majority stake acquired( via BelGer-Glas, of the HEINZ Holding Companies founded in Brussels for this purpose) in the known Belgium packaging glassworks in Momignies.
1989 - In January, sales of the brown glassworks in Schleiden to Nienburger Glas of that time (HEINZ PLASTICS GmbH remains in Schleiden in operation initially). In December, relations between the glassworks in Kleintettau and Piesau are reestablished.
1990 - In the middle of 1990, a small IS series machine from HEINZ-GLAS is provided to the Piesau plant to mark the start of modern glass factory technology in Piesau.
1991 - In May, acquisition of all shares of the Glaswerk Piesau GmbH from former East German state-owned companies by the Carl-Aug. Heinz Glashüttenwerke GmbH & Co.KG, Kleintettau of that time. In the summer and fall 1991, far-reaching restructuring was carried out at the glassworks in Piesau, especially in the technology area with the installation of a modern and environmentally compatibly melting tank fired with natural gas instead of lignite. At the end of September 1991, HEINZ PLASTICS GmbH moves from Schleiden to a new plant in Kall 10 km away. 1992 - In the middle of 1992, HEINZ enters the Polish market and takes a share via the 50:50 joint venture Heye und Heinz Glas GmbH in the glass factory Huta Szkla Dzialdowo.
1994 - In Piesau, a relatively new 8-station is replaced by the first European 10-station machine for cosmetics industry glass. Cleanroom conditions are created for pharmaceuticals production at HEINZ PLASTICS in Kleintettau. At the end of 1994, founding of the joint venture Peng Yuan Heinz Packages in Beijing for manufacturing containers in normal extrusion and caps in an injection molding process.
1995 - Founding of the joint venture H&K Bohemia for printing on glass in Hranice, Czech Republic
1997 - .Effective 1 July, HEINZ acquires the US American trading company Newburgh MFG via BelGer Glas and merges it with Heinz Glas USA, which was founded three years previous to that. In the fall, HEINZ-GLAS starts operation at a newly built production line for cosmetics packaging glass in a tableware glass factory in Jakarta, Indonesia.
1998 - June: HEINZ-PLASTICS POLSKA starts production as a joint venture. Majority sales of Nouvelles Verreries de Momignies to the Gerresheim Group.
1999 - Establishment of a company and family advisory board. March: An environmentally compatible paint-spraying system for glass with organic paint on a water-soluble basis starts operation in Kleintettau. April: Founding of the Paris office HEINZ Flaconnage France.
2001 - Complete sale of share in Nouvelles Verreries de Momignies to the Gerresheimer Glas AG. Acquisition of 50% of Heye shares in the Heye und Heinz Glas GmbH and remaining to CAH Heinz-Glas-Beteiligungs-GmbH as well as renaming the Polish glass factory to Heinz Glas Dzialdowo.
2002 - Founding of Spezialglas Piesau GmbH and set up of a 40 To-E-Tank with 6 and 10 station IS machines for opal glass production. Heinz Plastics in Kall is renamed KKT on 1 October 2002..
2005 - Founding of the Glasmeister Heinz Family Foundation. Founding of the non-profit Carl-Aug. Heinz Foundation. Founding of the sales office Heinz-Glas und Plastics UK in London. New electric tank furnace in Dzialdowo as second fusion heater in the factory. Share in the Chinese cosmetics glassworks 3Star in Jingshan near Hangzhou. Complete takeover of the printing works H&K Bohemia in Hranice, Czech Republic and renaming as Heinz Glas Decor.
2006 - Founding of the Heinz-Ferrand-Glass joint venture in Lima, Peru. Expansion of HEINZ-GLAS paint spraying to three lines in the new plant in Spechtsbrunn. Opening of the sales office Heinz Glass & Plastics Moscow.
2008 - Sales office HEINZ GLAS Iberica founded Majority stake in Ganahl AG in Switzerland
